On Board Detective Survey
The On Board Detective Survey provides independent verification of the actual fuel quantities onboard a vessel in order to detect hidden discrepancies or unreported bunker fuel. Our surveyors conduct detailed tank measurements and verify the Remaining On Board (ROB) quantities using soundings and ullage or innage control procedures. Through accurate measurement and operational checks, we ensure that recorded quantities match the real conditions onboard.
All findings are properly documented and, when necessary, Letters of Protest (LOP) can be issued to formally record any discrepancies identified during the inspection process. This independent verification helps shipowners and operators maintain transparency in bunker quantities and prevent potential financial losses associated with hidden fuel differences.
